About My Work

I have been painting about Science, specifically Evolution, for more than 20 years. My art reflects my explorations of some still un-resolved questions about our expanding universe. I tend to focus on one topic at a time, such as the categories below.

What emerges from subsequent LAYERS of time and space?
What happens when there is  REPETITION with small CHANGES?
What is the role of SPIRALS in organizing systems?
Where and when were LIFE'S ORIGINS? How did animate life emerge from inorganic chemistry?
How does EVOLUTION produce ORDER from CHAOS?

Question like these inspire me to continue my inquiries through my art.

I work on canvas, wood, paper, Tyvek, roofing paper, and other surfaces. Materials that I use include, oil, acrylic, water color, ink, chalk and oil pastels, charcoal, colored pencils, push pins, collage, and other materials as the work dictates.
